Sassicaia 2004

Alkon syyskuun varauskierrokselta kellariin tarttui pullollinen Sassicaiaa (95,4 €/plo). Eiköhän nyt riitä Toscana 2004 ostokset...

WS: 94/100 pistettä "Shows aromas of chocolate, currant and blackberry, with a hint of Spanish cedar. Full-bodied, with firm, velvety tannins and a long finish. Racy and very well-structured. Builds on the palate. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2012."

Château Guiraud 2005

Piti kotimaisesta Bordeaux 2005 valikoimasta hankkia vielä pieni erä Guiraudin 2005 vuosikertaa (32,1 eur/plo). WS:n mukaan kyseessä talon paras vuosikerta ikinä. Ällistyttävät pisteet.

WS: 97/100 pistettä "Delivers lots of botrytis spice, with lemon tart and cooked apple. Full-bodied, with loads of cream and vanilla and an intense tropical fruit and honey aftertaste. Long and viscous, with a layered and beautiful spicy finish. Hard not to drink it now. Best after 2014."

Château Clerc Milon 2005

Alkon viimeiset vapaat Clerc Milonit päätyivät kellariini (57,8 eur/plo). Alkuperäinen puulaatikkokin vielä löytyi. Hienoa!

Produttori del Barbaresco

Viime aikoina on tullut maisteltua Barbarescoja oikein urakalla. Innostuin myös hankkimaan valikoiman Produttori del Barbarescon vuosikerran 2000 Barbaresco Riservoja, kun tätä erinomaista vuosikertaa irtosi Superioresta kohtuuhintaan:

Barbaresco Riserva Pora DOCG 2000 (26,55 eur/plo) WS: 92/100 p - "Aromas of plum, cigar box and cedar follow through to a full-bodied palate with velvety tannins and a focused, fruity finish. Juicy finish. Best after 2007."

Barbaresco Riserva Asili DOCG 2000 (26,55 eur/plo) WS: 93/1oo p - "Lots of roses, berries and cherries on the nose with hints of strawberries. Full and silky with excellent fruit and a long, fruity and silky finish. Serious wine. Best after 2006."

Barbaresco Riserva Moccagatta DOCG 2000 (26,55 eur/plo) WS: 92/1oo p - "Ripe and wonderful with plum, berry and dried flower character. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. Starting to close up now. Lots going on. Best after 2007."

Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà DOCG 2000 (28,45 eur/plo) WS: 94/100p - "Wonderful aromas of flowers, berries and blackberries follow through to a full-bodied palate with focused berry, strawberry and floral character. Long and pretty. Loads of sweet, ripe fruit. Best after 2007."

Loppukesän grillikauden päätöstä varten tuli myös magnum-pullo Barbaresco DOCG 2004:sta (37,52 eur/magnum). Samaisen viinin 2003 vuosikertaa saa Alkon tilausvalikoimasta suolaiseen 34,70 euron hintaan.

Château de Beaucastel 2005 (valkoinen)

Vierailulta Beaucastelin tilalta tarttui mukaan puolikas laatikko talon valkoviiniä (50 eur/plo), vuosikertaa 2005. Vaihteeksi valkoista, kun talon punaviinit ovat tulleet jo hyvinkin tutuiksi (vuosikerrat 1990, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 maistettu; vuosikerta 2006 oli juuri pullotettu kun vierailin tilalla).

Voimakas viini. Todella erinomainen. WS: 93/100 pistettä

"This shows a nice firm, stony underpinning that allows exotic fig, kiwi and mango notes to sit seamlessly on a bright, minerally spine. The long, well-structured finish shows a green plum note. Drink now through 2020. 1,750 cases made."

Olmaia 2004

Pari vuotta sitten hankittu Olmaia 2001 laatikko sai kaverikseen laatikollisen Olmaia 2004 -vuosikertaa (34,5€/plo). Kyseessä on Olmaian uusin vuosikerta, joka pitäisi olla loistelias - kuten vuosikerta 2004 alueella muutoinkin. Tuottaja myös hehkutti 2004:sta kun kävin tilalla viime kesänä.

Ornellaia 2004

Viinikellaria on viime viikkoina hemmoteltu kyllä upeilla viineillä. Alkon varauskierrokselta vahvistui pari pulloa Ornellaia 2004:sta (yritin kyllä varata paljon enemmän; 99,6€/plo). Vuosikerran 2004 pitäisi olla huikea...

"Dark ruby-purple in color, with complex aromas of dark chocolate, cola, vanilla, cedar and currant. Full-bodied yet ultrarefined, with dense, seamless, caressing tannins. Everything is in the right proportion. Superb. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best after 2009."
